In-App Content Guidelines
When you add images to your app, App Section content, banners, carousels, or digital punch cards, a few simple specs keep everything sharp and readable on every phone. Follow these and your content will look exactly the way you intended.

Accepted Formats
- Static images: PNG or JPG.
- Animated or video banners: GIF only, autoplay, no sound. Keep any animation to 10 seconds or less.
Size & Dimensions
- Banners: 600 × 200 px.
- File size: 8 MB or less per image.
- In App Sections, you choose an aspect ratio for each image when you add it. Pick the preset (or custom value) that fits the slot.
- Whatever the size, keep your artwork high-resolution and optimized for mobile screens so it stays crisp on a phone.
Text on Images
Keep any text on the image 17 pt or larger so it's easy to read on a small screen.
Animation Tips
One thing that surprises people: animations play noticeably faster in the app than in your original file. To compensate, design your animation to run much slower than your intended final speed: around 0.20× (one-fifth speed) or slower is ideal. It'll look right once it's playing in the app.
Where These Apply
These guidelines cover the images you add throughout your app, including:
- App Sections: see Customizing Your App with App Sections for how to add and arrange them.
- Banners, carousels, and digital punch cards.
