Adding an Image to a Push Notification

A push notification with an image stands out in a customer's lock screen and gives your message more impact. Adding one takes a few seconds. Here's how, and what works best.

How to Add an Image

1. In DopeHub, go to Notifications and start a Create Notification.
2. In the Content section, find the Image (optional) field.
3. Add your image by dropping in a file or pasting an image URL.
4. Check the live phone preview to see how it looks, then finish and send or schedule as usual.

What Kind of Image to Use

• Any standard image type works, with one exception below. Use a high-resolution image so it looks crisp on a phone.
• No GIFs. Animated GIFs aren't supported for push notifications. (They're fine for in-app banners, just not here.)

Make It Look Good

A push image is seen small and fast, so the same readability rules from the In-App Content Guidelines apply:

• Keep it high-resolution and mobile-optimized.
• Go light on text, and keep any text large and legible.
• Use a clear, simple subject that reads at a glance.

When in doubt, send yourself a Test Notification first and look at it on an actual phone before sending to your audience.
